Our Story

The Forwards on stage

THE FORWARDS are a Baltimore-based, five-piece Reggae/Dancehall/Ska band made up of veterans of some of the area's most popular bands; including the Pietasters, Jah Works, the Scotch Bonnets, the Soularites, the Players, and Unity Reggae Band. Their audience has been steadily growing over the past few years, having played at area clubs, festivals, and having shared the stage with Jamaican legends, LEE "SCRATCH" PERRY, YELLOWMAN, and the SKATALITES.

Their music is a mix of classic Jamaican hits as well as a growing collection of eclectic and energetic originals which will make up their debut album, later this year.

The combination of lead vocals by dancehall specialist Sean "Selah" Martial and the soulful singing of Jade Tremba keeps the Forwards pleasing crowds of all stripes; while the hard-charging rhythm section shows off their decades of experience performing the Jamaican styles of music they love.
